Week 8

A shorter week this week, but we still worked hard! We wrote and published or non-chronological reports about gorillas. The children are now experts on the subject! As you can see, the final pieces are fantastic and all children should be very proud of how hard they worked on them. In P.E we practised our hockey and had a little tournament. It was lots of fun and children showed impressive skill.

Week 8- our non-chronological reports

Week 7

It was great to be back on timetable this week! After reading about Adonis, a silverback gorilla, in our class text, we began some research about these fascinating creatures. This will all go towards writing our own non-chronological reports. As a school we took part in an online safety afternoon. We created online adverts for a toy and thought about gender stereotyping. We also got to take part in an African mask making workshop, which was lots of fun and gave children a chance to show of their creative skills. Hopefully, you loved their work and have found somewhere to display it at home smiley

Week 6

What a week! We’ve been so busy this week with our swimming lessons and Bikeability. Children have been fantastic and were so proud of all of their achievements, as are we 😊  In amongst all that, we still managed to take some time to show off our impressive drawing skills for Harry Potter Day!

Week 5

This week, we’ve been working hard on our circuit building skills. We thought about the different components needed in a circuit and their symbols. Children have become quite skilled in building their own circuits! We investigated how increasing the voltage affected the brightness of light bulbs.

Week 4

This week we spent time finding about different people from the Old Testament, we worked together in groups to create some informative work for display. We also took part in National Fitness Day, working with Coach Alex to get our bodies moving!

Week Four

Week 3

This week we enjoyed our first Outdoor Day of the year. The weather did not stop us having a fantastic time! It was a day full of maths, spellings and teamwork. We started the day by working together to use the place value counters to create different numbers. Then, we played and created our own team games using just a hula hoop. Finally, we spent the afternoon navigating our way around the school grounds for our spelling orienteering activity. A busy, but fabulous day!

Week 2

We started the week with our workshop WW2 delivered by William. There was lots of acting and costume changes! We had all had a great time and the children were very impressive with the amount they already knew.
