Welcome to 4N!
Hello and welcome to our 4N class page. We are all looking forward to a busy and exciting year ahead.
We are currently studying story books on the Rainforest and the problems and issues it and its people face. We are using these books to help develop different styles of writing, extend our language and develop our use of correct punctuation and grammar.
In Mathematics we are learning about place value, addition and subtraction strategies, mental multiplication, problem solving and geometry.
In our R.E. topics we are learning about the stories from the Old Testament including Creation, the story of Abraham and Isaac, Jacob’s ladder and the story of Joseph’s dream. We aim to follow in Jesus’ footsteps by being kind to others and learning about the Gospel values. Our specific value this term will be 'attentiveness'
Our topic work is based around South America and we will be looking at its countries, climate and temperature, cities, such as Rio, and the animals, structure and vegetation of the Rainforest. We will be writing non-chronological reports about a Rainforest animal, sketching and painting Rainforest creatures and looking at, and creating, our own Aboriginal artwork.
